Fantasy Cricket Update - Two Weeks to Go

A big scoring fortnight across the club following 3 wins out of 3 over the last two weeks has seen the MVP swing back and forth between two players, whilst the league table itself has tightened up further at the top.

Matt Wood's hundred last week briefly gave him the lead in the MVP stakes before Shaun Little, who had only played once in the second half of the season before this Saturday, responded with 98 and 2 wickets of his own to mark the performance of the week across the club and wrestle back the MVP lead. Meanwhile, Matt Jackson chipped in with a multi-catch performance, but Pete White still sits well clear in the bowling rankings.

The bottom of the league table remains unchanged. With only a couple of weeks of the season left, pride is all that is left to play for among these club members, although unless something significant changes, the bottom spot has been secured by Dan Bingley. Despite good seasons and personal points tallies, Matt Wood and Adam Battisson both languish in the bottom half, alongside second team captain Chris Newbury, and both current and former club chairmen George Clift and Sean McClure respectively.

The top of the table has seen a few changes, with Matt Jackson falling back from the ever present Rich Barnett at the very top. Although Tom Mundy still has an outside chance, the winner is most likely to come from one of the long term top 4.

This week sees a double header for the club against Redlynch and Hale before the curtain falls on the season over the bank holiday weekend with the first team making the long journey to Steep and the seconds hosting Ringwood. Winning games usually leads to more points and the club will be hoping to close out what has been a difficult season on a high.
